Out & About in the Loire Valley

The Loire Valley has something to offer all tastes and ages.

You can see some of the world’s most magnificent Châteaux and taste the famous wines served to you by the producer in his own cellar.

Enjoy the rolling countryside, the stately Loire river and its picturesque tributaries. Visit museums, local markets and theme parks, including Futuroscope and Puy de Fou.

Sample local food, cooked and served underground in troglodyte caves.
Take part in the many water sports on offer, including horse riding, fishing and golf. Relax on the famous beaches of the Vendée, less than 2 hours away.

At nearby Doué la Fontaine, known for its rose gardens and festivals, you will find an excellent zoo, troglodyte caves and many good restaurants. The historic towns of Angers and Saumur, both lively places, offer good shopping and fine Châteaux.

The surrounding countryside of Concourson-sur-Layon offers excellent walking and cycling, with many trails throughout the local vineyards and hills of the “Coteaux de Layon”. The river Layon itself, a short walk from us, is popular with fishing enthusiasts and contains a variety of fish. Golfers are well catered for, with seven good courses within a forty-minute drive.
